Bachelor Nation News, Michelle Money Provides an Update, and Colton’s Book Release – Reality Steve

Some news stories to hit Bachelor Nation today, most of which I tweeted or talked about last Sunday night at the weekly IG live show I'm doing with Ashley Spivey at 8 ET. Tune in this Sunday for the next episode. And guess what? My new phone tripod arrived yesterday and this one really works! So instead of propping my phone up against a speaker I've always done for FaceTime interviews or calls, I feel strangely excited to have a tripod for my phone now. Okay, I'm way behind everyone else on this, but hey, at least I'm finally there now. Anyway, I was going to include some "Reality Roundup" today, but I thought Wednesday might not be a great day to do it considering that "Survivor" airs on Wednesday nights and the new season of "Challenge" also starts tonight. So Thursday or Friday is when that is very likely to happen. Today I just want to go over the Bachelor Nation news that I'm sure you've heard in the past few days, but maybe you haven't heard me talk about it. Much to cover, despite the fact that none of them is related to the show.

Let's get that out of the way first. I know nothing more than you when it comes to "Bachelorette" or "Bachelor in Paradise". Nothing. I introduced them to everything a couple of weeks ago regarding their filming schedule and how things might work, but that seems less and less likely, and still, it was just speculation. Until someone from this program tackles it, there isn't much to talk about on that front. But probably nobody is approaching it because nobody knows anything. How can they do it when we're basically living hour by hour in this country? My guess is, and this is strictly a guess, that "Bachelor in Paradise" never happens this summer because I think "Bachelorette" takes precedence. But once again, I have no idea what his plans are if things are delayed.

One thing we do know is that Summer Games was officially canceled, as that announcement was made on Monday. Not that anyone expected it to happen once the virus hit, but now it's officially canceled. However, with the actual Olympics delayed for next year, I suppose they will do the same with the Summer Games. I think even Fleiss tweeted that she will be back next summer. So look it up in the summer of 2021.

Probably the most important news that has happened in recent days is the tragic story of Michelle Money's daughter, Brielle, who suffered a skateboarding accident and was on life support in the ICU. Michelle gave an update earlier this morning and thank goodness Brielle seems to be doing better. Here's what Michelle posted earlier this morning:

I have always considered Michelle a friend. She appeared on the podcast in consecutive weeks in 2017 in the early stages of the podcast. I interviewed her once, and the next week she came back and interviewed me. If I'm not mistaken, that was the longest podcast I ever made, as it lasted over 2 hours. I never met Brielle before, but I remember FaceTiming was with them a couple of years ago because Michelle said Brielle had a Bachelor related question for me. I can't remember what it was now, but I remember it was quite funny that Brielle thought to say to her mother, "Hey, can you FaceTime Reality Steve? I have a question." I'm glad to know that things are better for Brielle. Keeping you both in my prayers.

Also last weekend, Ben Higgins got engaged to his girlfriend Jessica Clarke. I've told the story of how last year during my fan thank you party, Ben was in Las Vegas for a friend wedding vow renewal and we were at the pool at the same time, and Ben's group just dropped 3 chairs above me so I went and introduced myself and talked for about 30 minutes. That's my only encounter with the boy, but I remember being the early stages of him with Jessica and he seemed very happy. And I think many people could see that a compromise between them was a matter of when and not if. So congratulations to them.

Speaking of my fan appreciation party this year scheduled for June 5. It seems more and more likely that I will push him back. Again, we just don't know enough at the moment, but to think we'll be back in business as a country in 2 months with no problems related to travel, Las Vegas hotels etc. It could be an illusion. June 5 seems to be a little early. We'll see. It won't be difficult for me to reschedule just a different Friday night in July or August or something, but I understand that people bought flights and what not. The good news is that airlines seem to be quite forgiving of flight changes due to the virus, so hopefully people can re-book, or at least get their money back. The party is full right now, but I know that if I have to change the date, not everyone will be able to go if it's in late July or August. Maybe they have other plans, or maybe they're still a little apprehensive about traveling. I totally understand it. It would only mean if / when I decide on a new date, spaces will open and I'll announce it at the right time. And the people who were booked for this year, if they can't make it to the new time, will have their first places at next year's party. It just seems fair.

The biggest issue that came up from last Sunday's IG concert with Ashley Spivey was "What's going on with Tyler and Hannah Brown?" Your guest is as good as mine. I don't know, nor do I really care. If they are going to continue appearing in videos and deliberately do not address what is happening, for me they are attracting attention. I just have a hard time seeing it differently. I'm not talking about WHAT they're posting, which are silly things that I don't really understand anyway. I'm just speaking generally that they know very well that their posts generate so much attention. And that attention is "Are they dating?" And they seem to enjoy the fact that everyone is talking about whether or not they are, so they just keep posting and don't broach the subject. To me, that screams they love speculation and guessing, and it seems selfish. Whatever is. It is what it is. I don't know anything about their relationship. If they are dating, good for them. If they are not, why continue to let people speculate that they do? Different bumps for different people, I guess. But there is no need to ask me because I don't know anything.

Yesterday was the launch of Colton's book. Previously twice guest author and podcast writer for the LA Times, Amy Kaufman interviewed Colton about it, and I assumed I had some actually attention-grabbing solutions. BTW, that hyperlink works for me after I apply it to cell gadgets, however after I click on on it on the desktop, LA Occasions says I’ve used all of my free gadgets and is asking me to pay. So I hope it really works for you. If not, listed below are a few of his solutions that I discovered attention-grabbing:

Amy: Do you assume the present wished you to fall in love?

Colton: There have been cross strains in my relationship with Cassie that I found after the present. There have been issues they mentioned and did that compromised my relationship along with her. Now, it makes a lot sense that she determined to depart. When you're going to do a present, a minimum of give me a good likelihood to complete off the lady I'm falling in love with. Your job as a present is to get us collectively. I perceive what we did [come together] in the long run, however I needed to take it into my very own fingers and be excessive with it. They worth their tv present greater than the love story they at all times promote. Truly, there have been some belongings you did that separated us and if I didn't defend myself, I most likely wouldn't be with Cassie right now.

Sadly, I don't assume Colton has expanded on what these issues the manufacturing did. Nevertheless, it doesn't shock me within the least to listen to this. I’ve been telling you this for years. Listening to him say it, even with out giving particulars, simply solidifies what I've been preaching to you about how a lot goes on behind the scenes of what the general public has no concept. And once more, I feel that individuals perceive in 2020 that actuality tv just isn’t actual, however I let you know that I nonetheless don’t assume that individuals perceive how a lot of this program just isn’t natural. And the way individuals are advised to do and say issues by manufacturing that they simply find yourself doing. Don’t you consider it? Have a look at these solutions:

Amy: You speak rather a lot about producers pushing you to do issues. You mentioned that after being on "The Bachelorette," the producers wished you to go to "Bachelor in Paradise" to seek for an previous flame, Tia Sales space, in the event you wished to be thought-about for "The Bachelor." Didn't you are feeling unhealthy about messing with Tia?

Colton: 100%. Lastly, in a rose ceremony, I checked out her and thought: “What am I doing to this poor lady? I have to be sincere with myself. I can't maintain listening to the producers say "I want to offer it a attempt." I do know in my coronary heart that this isn’t for me and I most likely ought to by no means have come right here. "

Amy: OK, clarify that to me: how do they persuade you of issues? The best way to ask 4 completely different males for the hand of their daughter in marriage?

Colton: I might have brainwashed a bit throughout all of this. Asking permission to get married was one thing I grew to understand. … after I mentioned [the producers] I felt braveness in asking the dad and mom, they wished me to ask all 4 of them. That was a really, very huge combat, and that was very, very exhausting for me. Frankly, on the time, I already knew the place my thoughts was.

Amy: Then why did you do it?

Colton: I want I had a solution for you. [The producers and I] he would get collectively and say, "I can't do it, I can't do it." With tayshia [Adams] "I'm most likely going to get in bother for saying this, however no matter it was, at first, I didn't ask, as a result of I valued his engagement earlier and didn't need to try this to him." I didn't ask after I sat down along with his father. On the finish [producers] they have been like, "You need to do it. You need to pull it once more. At the moment, it's 12 and 1 within the morning and I’m wondering," OK, can we finish this? "It's like" Effectively, you understand how to finish this. Go have that dialog.

Even that dialog with Matt [Randolph]Cassie's father: I learn the scenario that he wasn't going to offer me permission [to marry his daughter]. I wasn't going to ask why I wished it to be one thing distinctive. However I feel they requested me [by producers] three or 4 or 5 5 occasions, like, "Tonight is a superb night time." Don't have a query you need to ask? "These are the fierce issues. They will do a greater job of stepping again and letting contestants have management over their love and historical past.

I imply, he mentioned it as clearly and concisely as potential: they brainwashed him. He did issues on that present that he didn't need as a result of somebody, by some means, by some means made him do it. So regardless that folks always say the present just isn’t "scripted" per se, however heck, learn these responses and you’ll understand that it would as effectively. What's the distinction between telling somebody to say a line you need them to do and doing what Colton described there about having to ask the four households for his or her blessing to marry their daughter? Nothing in the event you ask me. And whereas there are some on this franchise who’ve publicly mentioned they have been by no means advised to say something, I can 100% let you know what’s going on. I've had folks particularly inform me that they have been advised to say actual strains on the digital camera. Some did, others didn’t. Nevertheless, it does occur, so anybody who says it isn't A) is mendacity as a result of they don't need to disturb ABC or B) they have been by no means requested.

As I discussed earlier, nothing Colton mentioned is basically information or issues he hadn't heard earlier than, however actually listening to the present's management speaking about how manipulated the manufacturing felt reveals they don't actually care about their contestants, and their job is to provide a tv present in the beginning. Always remember this once you watch the present. I can say all of it day on daily basis till I'm unhappy, however I do know a lot of you continue to assume it's simply because I'm cynical and at all times vital of the present. No, I'm reasonable and I let you know what Actually occurs. Colton's guide solely helps that.
